Abstract: Location detection is a vast area of research in the field of wireless sensor network (WSN). Accurate location detection with less overhead requirements is a challenging task as hardware implantation in tiny sensor increase complexity in terms of resource limitation and size. This paper proposes a lightweight location detection method which uses RSSI of the anchor nodes which by using their GPS calculate its distance from the sensor. This distance calculation is achieved through a novel approach in which 2D distance equations are used to estimate the relative arrangement of the node. The proposed method was tested through simulation and it is shown that an acceptable level of error is occurred in the method.
